He smiles when she laughs. That was always the point of his jokes. 'He who laughs at himself never runs out of things to laugh at' was what they said and sharing humor with other people, particularly in times of stress, was nice.

Her question takes his attention, however, and he realizes he has a decision to make. At least he could stall for a moment with that last part. "That...is rather odd. I won't pretend to be an expert in such things, but that seems like a lot of domains for one being. Then again, perhaps it is more efficient, less chance for in-fighting, I suppose."

Only one god means no Calamity which certainly wouldn't have been a bad thing. He reaches for the place the two symbols hang about his neck under his clothing on instinct. "While I don't serve him, I follow Pelor -the Dawnfather's- teachings to try and guide my decisions now." He hesitates briefly. "I used to serve a god, but I would rather not talk about him or that time right now, if that's alright."
