The last time he had chocolate, he was hiding out in a nearly gutted old convenience store. It had been a Hershey's bar, and it was already opened and someone had stepped on it in a rush to get out of the building. He'd eaten it anyway, and it had been stale. And he'd savored every flake.
"You're the third person who's looked at me that way," he laughs, giving her a quizzical look. "Did I not shower enough?"
