[There's no world in which anyone being startled or frightened by Rue's true form doesn't cut them into ribbons, doesn't absolutely decimate Rue's heart. Of course there's a part of them that understands what they look like to most, especially to humans, that an owlbear of their size, with talons like those, looks so much more like a threat than a friend. But even knowing that doesn't ease the sting for Rue.
Because all it reminds them of is the painful echo of the Chorus chanting at them - "And we do not fault you for your outburst. It's in your nature". How after millennia spent serving them, spent shoving themselves into boxes that didn't quite fit, Rue was still nothing more than an awakened beast to the very court who raised them.
Eda growls, folds back her ears and defends Rue's very right to be, and without missing a beat, the owlbear's shoulders straighten with a huffing ruffle of soft feathers, their chin tipped upwards, a clawed hand resting over Eda's elbow.]
I'm afraid that my time's already spoken for, gentlemen. Good day.
[And they will happily let Eda guide them out of the room to wherever it is they are meant to go. As long as they get to arrive there with a little grace and dignity, instead of being herded like an animal, Rue will go without any fuss.]
