I WOULD SPEND TIME/HAVE FUN/BE FRIENDS WITH YOU.

Despite having next to nothing in common (aside from an understandable appreciation for fashion), Donnie doesn't hate spending time around Rue. He would like to introduce them to the wonders of parallel play, so that he can be on his phone in their area without having to pay them any attention, but it can still count as quality time.

Rue seems the sturdy type. They were clearly freaking out on several occasions, but managed to reign themself in with hardly any outside help. Donnie doesn't usually put a lot of stock into emotional intelligence because he's a Shithead, but he does know that his own freakouts usually require outside intervention, and therefore can at least admire Rue for being capable in something he struggles with himself.

Most relationships the boys have with people ends up with copious rescues (on both sides) so yeah. Assumed. He will throw down for this big owl.

Not quite sure to what extent that protection will extend, but yes. His considerable aptitude for protection is Rue's for the utilizing.

If he must. Rue was very observant and respectful that time on the steps, and did what Donnie asked without second-guessing or demanding less or more. Donnie's not always anti-touch, but he usually is. He will offer Rue comfort if absolutely necessary, because they deserve the effort now.

Kind of. He cares about Rue and definitely counts them as part of the inner circle, but if it came down to saving Rue or saving one of his brothers/April/his dad, he would unfortunately let Rue die. At least he'd feel guilty about it?
